2010 TRBA Accomplishments
Created TRBA website and Facebook accounts.
Collected $231.00 in cash and approximately 300 items for TREP during two food drives; and collected approximately $450.00 for TREP through 50/50 raffles held at our meetings.
Raised $475.00 from the Heart-a-Rama wheel; rounded the amount to $500.00 and donated it to the American Heart Association.
Donated $300.00 to Shop with a Cop program.
Sent letters to the Post Master General regarding the post office building; letter to County Board Chair regarding Juvenile Detention Center; letter to thank the city employees and the City Council on their teamwork during the 2009 contract and pay issues; letters to the H.O.G. Rally Site Selection Committee showing support to host the H.O.G. Rally.
Title sponsor of the Wisconsin Carp Championship & created two-day Carp Fest event.
Held another successful Kites Over Lake Michigan event.
Coordinated the two-page Two Rivers page/map in the Discovery Guide.
Coordinated four inserts in the newspaper.
Distributed TRBA membership window stickers for display on the doors of TRBA members.
Distributed the Doom and Gloom layoff posters to TRBA members.
Hosted a City Council candidate forum.
Coordinated the ping pong ball drop during Maxwell Street Day.
Put up and took down lights on the trees along Washington Street.
Held an Advanced Facebook workshop open to the public where approximately 40 people attended.
TRBA met with booster clubs from the school district to work together for fundraising ideas within Two Rivers.
Secured an anchor, platform and marker for the John Schroeder memorial to be displayed at Rogers Street and unveiled during Carp Fest 2011.
Social events included our annual dinner/meeting, golf outing and steak fry, Networking at Night event, and winter social.
TRBA was nominated for the 2010 Cooperation Award from The Chamber of Manitowoc County for median grass cutting work with the city.
