Two Rivers Businesses Collaborate at November TRBA Meeting

TRBA membership meeting for November 2023

The Two Rivers Business Association (TRBA) held its monthly member meeting on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 at the Cool City Brewing Company. The 7:30 AM meeting brought together business owners, community organizations, and civic leaders to network, share updates, and foster collaboration.

TRBA Board Updates

The TRBA board announced upcoming association events and initiatives:

  • A holiday get-together will take place on January 11th at 5:30 PM at City Central. This will be a gift exchange event for members to connect on a personal level.

  • On February 10th, the TRBA will sponsor an improv comedy show to showcase the organization to the community.

  • The next member meeting in December will take place at the high school.

  • Treasurer Chad reminded that tax season is approaching and offered to answer any tax-related questions.

Spotlight on Local Businesses

Three local businesses took the spotlight at the meeting to share news and educate fellow members:

Circle Wisconsin - Executive Director Wendy Dobrzynski discussed the importance of tourism and motorcoach tours for bringing outside dollars into the local economy. She encouraged the community to showcase unique hands-on experiences and attractions to draw more tours.

Dalebroux Jewelry - After over 70 years in business, Linda Streu announced she will soon retire and close the longtime jewelry store. She shared her dream that someone might come forward to purchase and continue operating Dalebroux.

Center on Rural Innovation - CORI representatives introduced their work to grow rural tech entrepreneurship ecosystems. They encouraged members to take a survey to gauge interest in developing Two Rivers' tech economy.

Community Announcements

Several other local organizations and new TRBA members also made announcements:

  • The City of Two Rivers highlighted an upcoming survey on parks planning.

  • Lester Public Library advised that their environmental advisory board met to discuss saving energy costs.

  • Two Rivers Main Street promoted their upcoming downtown holiday parade and business decoration contest.

Civic and Educational Updates

Leaders from local government, schools, colleges, and law enforcement gave updates:

  • Superintendent Diane Johnson invited all to an upcoming high school musical performance.

  • The Two Rivers City Manager talked about city budget items, development projects, and hiring a tourism director.

  • Lakeshore Technical College previewed an upcoming diversity summit event.

  • Police Chief Ben Miennert discussed new community engagement initiatives.
